New York Burn Ban in Effect March 16, 2026 - May 14, 2026. This statewide regulation prohibits the burning of brush, leaves, and yard debris to reduce the high risk of wildfires in early spring.
NYS is requiring everyone who operates a personal water craft or power-driven vessel to have their boating license. Please see attached form for local classes.

Fairville Fire Dept. is getting ready to do their Famous Fish Fry dinners which includes a fried or baked fish, with a lemon wedge, tarter sauce, a baked potato, coleslaw, a roll and butter, pickle spear, applesauce, and ice cream! They will be active on February 20 & 27, March 6, 13, 20, & 27, and April 3, 2026 from 4:30PM-7PM.

Network with like-minded individuals, and explore the latest tools and products designed to support a successful homesteading lifestyle. June 5-6, 2026

Times are tough, but you’re not alone. The Newark Public Library now offers a food pantry, open to anyone in our community who may need a little extra help. It is located downstairs in the library, stocked with nonperishable foods and hygiene products.
If you have a NYS Pistol Permit License, you are now required to submit your recertification to the New York State Police every 3 years.
Newark Library is working with a Local Kids Closet to collect the following items.
