• Starting March 3, 2026 there will be a 2% penalty fee added onto all tax bills, until March 31, 2026. Starting April 1, 2026 you will need to contact Wayne County Treasurers office to make any payments, or ask any questions. That phone number is 315-945-7441.

• A New York State Dept. of Environmental Conservation Burn Ban is in effect on March 16, 2026 until May 14, 2026. Please see the flyer in News and Public Notices for more information. 

• Wayne County Soil & Water Conservation District is holding their first Electronics Event on March 26 & 27, 2026 in Lyons. Please see the flyer and link to sign up in News and Public Notices.

• Wayne County Public Health is having their first Drive Thru Rabies Clinic of 2026, on April 11 from 10:00AM-12:00PM. Please see the flyer and link to sign up in the News and Public Notices.

• Fairville Fire Dept. is getting ready to do their Famous Fish Fry dinners which includes a fried or baked fish, with a lemon wedge, tarter sauce, a baked potato, coleslaw, a roll and butter, pickle spear, applesauce, and ice cream! They will be active on February 20 & 27, March 6, 13, 20, & 27, and April 3, 2026 from 4:30PM-7PM.

• Wayne County is hosting a job fair on Thursday, March 19, 2026, 11:00am-1:00pm. Please see the attached flyer in News & Public Notices for more information.

• Times are tough, but you’re not alone. The Newark Public Library now offers a food pantry, open to anyone in our community who may need a little extra help.
